Excalibur Apartments

I usually don’t plug places like this, but I’m so overwhelmed as well as excited to spread the experience that I’ve had with Excalibur Apartments that I found it worthy of it’s own blog post.

My girlfriend and I moved into Excalibur in Pikesville, Maryland about three to four weeks ago. The price, although almost worthy of a house of it’s own, is well worth it. For around $1600/month we have their top floorplan (their smaller floorplans go for around $1200/month). Included in the apartment are a few things which I consider to be deal makers or breakers. First off, is washer and dryer in unit. Let me clarify that, our washer and dryer have their own room complete with door and off from main living. The sound gets contained, and the unit’s aren’t the cheap 5 year old units either. Every single appliance is either brand new or within the last 2 years, including even the fridge and range/oven.

The few "wow factor" items that Excalibur always get me thinking, even though I already moved in. First, the ample squarefeet. For $1600/month I get 1600ish SQFT. The second is, of course, a fireplace. Yes, I said that correctly, a fireplace. Third, the staff is irreplaceable. Whenever I go to the main office they know you on a first name basis, know your spouse and even your pet names. You can even stop in just to ask the odd question or two, without the worry of bugging them. They’re there for ever single question, whether basic or complex, with a smile and a helping hand. I often like to remind people that "you get what you pay for" – in which I’m surprised I’m not paying in excess of $2000 per month for this extravagant lifestyle (and it really is a lifestyle). If you work for Excalibur – I was just joking about the price increase. :)

Let’s talk about the amenities. I relate my apartment to living in a gated community. They have security here most of the day, which of course – like the other staff – are all nice and look out for you. Key-card protected parking garage with assigned parking spots which means no worrying about finding a spot at 2 AM getting home from a wedding. Elevators for the higher level apartments (I’m on the first floor). 24/7 Gym with -NEW- equipment! There’s also two public rooms that any resident can use at any time (pending no one is in there, of course). First is the clubroom which has an amazing couch you could easily fall asleep on. It’s a huge room and great for just relaxing when you need to ‘get away’. Second is the conference room, with a table big enough for at least 8-10. If you end up talking to the staff about a lease, this is most likely where they will take you.

And of course, the number one amenity that I haven’t even gotten to use yet: the roof. That’s right, I’m talking about the roof. Why? Because at Excalibur Apts they have a rooftop pool, shuffle board, tennis court, putting green and even propane grills. It’s the perfect precursor to NFL sunday in my opinion! The people that live here are also quality. No problems living next to Section 8 housing, or the mooches next door. You’re living next to kind, genuine people. The staff makes sure that it stays this way.

If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment, and if you do end up taking a look at Excalibur Apartments make sure you mention the name Robert Adler – if you end up moving in, I’ll make sure to get you a gift! :)

I hope this ‘review’ helped you with your decision about Excalibur Apartments .
