Mount Saint Joseph High School Review

I just wanted to throw an honest review of MSJ (Mount Saint JosephOfficial Site ) out there for people to read. I attended Mount Saint Joseph High School and graduated in 2005. When I walked across the stage to receive my diploma at the Cathedral of Mary our Queen, I was never so proud of myself.

Ever since, I have been striving to become one of those success stories that Brother James always spoke of. Since graduating I have been named the best C++ Programmer in Pennsylvania by the Phi Beta Lambda student organization (largest in the USA), and tenth best in the United States of America in 2006. I was quite proud of myself, but would anything less be expected of a Mount Man ?

So here’s my "informational article" about Mount Saint Joseph – and my hope is that if you’re a parent reading this while considering sending your son to MSJ, that it helps you reach a decision.

My name is Robert Adler. I am currently 20 years old, and just graduated from college with a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology. Yes, I have a Bachelors at age 20 (I’m getting used to clarifying this, but I enjoy it to be honest). MSJ taught me to work hard; for people that work hard will achieve what they dream and if you want it bad enough, you will receive it.

One of the main selling points besides the fact that it prepares your son for more "professional" environments, is the brotherhood. To be honest, this is one of the first points I speak about when I’m questioned about my high school. After all, I didn’t go to high school – I went to Mount Saint Joseph. The brotherhood will be your strongest feeling at the mount, especially when you graduate. Some of my closest friends (brothers) are from MSJ, and I will probably be with them until the end.

Every where I go, if I see another Mount Man I will go out of my way to make sure that if there’s anything I can do to help, I will. Yesterday at court I saw a young man waiting for traffic court with a Mount Saint Joseph polo on and I made sure I introduced myself. I’ve seen mount men around local malls, driving, etc. Often this kind of lifestyle is referred to when talking about a sorority or fraternity and the relationships that grow from those types of organizations – but MSJ is just the same.

One thing that it will have that no other high school has is the networking opportunities. When I had received a speeding ticket (and I was innocent!) I had to find a lawyer. Of course, when the choices were on the table and one of them went to MSJ the answer was simple. After hearing those great words of "case dismissed", I heard another line as he walked away to his car: "anything for another mount man".

The relationships that your son will make at Mount Saint Joseph will last him for life. That’s almost a guarantee I can make you. Don’t just take my word for it, go and take a tour with Admissions and have them explain the core values and goals of the school. Your son will learn discipline, respectability, responsibility, honor, dedication and most of all what brotherhood feels like.

I hope this post has help you made some decisions, and if you have any questions at all (and I will be honest, I won’t just one-side it towards the mount) just shoot me an email. My email address is contact -at- robadler -dot- com.
